Letter to HSE 'Have your Say' 16/02/09
To whom it concerns
We wish to bring to your attention an issue which has been highlighted to us by members of the public re local Public Health Centres across the country.
The phones in many cases are left to ring out, this leads to frustration and stress for patients and their carers.
In many cases there is no answering service advising the public of opening hours, lunch etc, also leading to stress and irritation.
It is suggested that if it where possible a ‘call back service’ would be available when there is no one to operate the phones.
An after hours message should be recorded including the number for the ‘out of hours service’ available to that area i.e. D -doc or the local hospital number for cases of emergency.
We imagine this issue could be easily solved by a simple email to each Public Health Centre advising them of the required amendments for better service.
Kind Regards
